A three-day (28-29 May 2016) Krishi Bagwani Exhibition-cum-Kisan Goshthi was jointly organized by ICAR Research Complex for Eastern Region, Patna, Hindustan, Kishan Unnati Manch and National Horticulture Board, New Delhi at ICAR-RCER.
Shri Radha Mohan Singh, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare inaugurated the event today. In his address, he urged the farmers to diversify the existing farming practices with due importance to livestock, fisheries and allied activities of agriculture. Agriculture Minister advised the women farmers to make self-help groups to diversify production systems. He also appreciated the efforts of Hindustan Group, for organizing programmes, especially in the field of micro-irrigation, floriculture, mushroom cultivation, duckery, etc. for farmers’ benefit.
Shri Sanjeev Chaurasiya, MLA, Digha Constituency, Shri Sunil Kumar Singh; MLA, Shri Jivesh Kumar Mishra, MLC also graced the occasion.
Scientists of ICAR institutes delivered lecture on various aspects of horticulture and sugarcane. Fifteen ICAR institutes, SAUs and NGOs depicted their exhibits/technologies in exhibition stalls and more than 300 farmers participated in the programme.
