ICAR- FAO jointly released training toolkit on good agricultural and collection practices of medicinal plants

DSC_3302sThe Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and Food &Agricultural Organization (FAO) jointly released a training toolkit comprising GAPC training manual, GACP training video, Illustrated cause and effect of training tool and Illustrated GACP booklet here today. The training material on GACP of medicinal plants has been developed by Directorate of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Research (DMAPR), Anand, Gujrat.

Ayyappan, Secretary, DARE & Director General, ICAR  and Dr. Gavin Wall, FAO Representative in India released the training material in presence of Dr. Satyabrata Maiti, Director (DMAPR) and expressed their views on skill development for evaluation of medicinal plants from natural ecosystem. The significance of medicinal and aromatic plants has been increasing since recent past and collective efforts made to further enhance cultivation and use.   

A short film on the subject was also screened.
