Campaign on “Knowledge Empowerment of Tribals” organized

The ICAR-Sugarcane Breeding Institute, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu in collaboration with the Anamalai Tiger Reserve, Tamil Nadu organized a Campaign on “Knowledge Empowerment of Tribals” and launched its STC (Scheduled Tribe Component) Project today.

In his inaugural address, Shri M.G. Ganesan, Deputy Director, Anamalai Tiger Reserve, Tamil Nadu applauded the Institute’s decision of implementing the STC Project in the Anamalai Tiger Reserve. Shri Ganesan stated that the Institute has taken utmost care in identifying the appropriate interventions for the tribals in the Reserve.

Outlining the ICAR-SBI STC Team’s efforts in identifying the apt interventions for the tribals, Dr. G. Hemaprabha, Director, ICAR-SBI, Coimbatore urged the tribal beneficiaries to actively participate and make use of the STC Project effectively.

The STC Team from ICAR-SBI, Tribal Village Heads and Officials from Tamil Nadu Forest Department, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and All India Radio participated in the Campaign.
