The ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone - II, Jodhpur, Rajasthan has organized the “Virtual State Level Work Plan - 2022 Workshop for KVKs of Rajasthan” from 7th to 8th January, 2022.
Delivering the inaugural address, Prof. (Dr.) B.R. Choudhary, Vice-Chancellor, Agricultural University, Jodhpur, Rajasthan stressed on the formulation of the Work Plan by each Krishi Vigyan Kendra separately as per the demand of farmers and the requirements of the District. The importance of the Government of India’s initiatives, viz., One District - One Product, Farmers’ Producers’ Organizations, Self-Help Groups, etc., were highlighted by the Chief Guest.
Dr. S.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Jodhpur while apprised the participants about the priorities fixed by the Government of India that needs to be addressed by each KVK. He also urged the KVKs to act dynamically as per the priority. Dr. Singh emphasized that now it is the time to move from Food Security to Income Security of the farmers. The importance of the post-harvest technologies & value-addition, precision farming, implementation of Drone & Artificial Intelligence, Natural Resource Management, Organic & Natural Farming for achieving the vision of doubling the farmers’ income by transforming agriculture to business models, etc., were underlined by Dr. Singh.
Around 6 Directors of Extension Education of State Agricultural Universities and 44 KVKs of Rajasthan are participating in the Workshop.
