ICAR-IGFRI, Jhansi participates in “Interaction Meeting of Union Agriculture Minister with Farmers, Livestock Keepers and Women Self-Help Groups of Karhal, Sheopur District”

The ICAR-Indian Grassland and Fodder Research Institute, Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh participated in the “Interaction Meeting of Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare with the Farmers and Livestock Keepers and Women Self-Help Groups of Karhal, Sheopur, Madhya Pradesh” today. The Meet was organized at the Village Goras, Block Karhal, Sheopur District, Madhya Pradesh.

In his address, Shri Tomar underlined the Central and State Governments’ various programmes aimed at the upliftment of the Tribals, Women Self-Help Groups and Livestock Keepers. Highlighting the role of “Gir Breed” of Cows reared in the Village Goras, the Union Minister urged the State Officials for preparing a plan involving the ICAR-IGFRI, Jhansi and Veterinary Officials to preserve and improve the particular Breed. Shri Tomar also distributed the Bajra x Napier Hybrid Cuttings / Planting Materials to the farmers during the occasion.

Earlier, Dr. Amaresh Chandra, Director, ICAR-IGFRI, Jhansi delivered the welcome address.
