National Workshop on ‘Empowering Student Entrepreneurship and Innovations in Aquafeed Industry’ Organised

ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Mumbai, successfully organized the National Workshop on ‘Empowering Student Entrepreneurship and Innovations in Aquafeed Industry’ today. This pioneering event served as a significant step towards bridging the gap between academia and industry, offering fisheries graduates an invaluable platform to explore job opportunities while enabling recruiters to connect with emerging talent.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Niteen V. Patil, Vice-Chancellor, Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University (MAFSU) Nagpur, in the esteemed presence of Dr. N. P Sahu, Director (acting), ICAR-CIFE, Mumbai.

In his inaugural address, Dr. Patil highlighted the critical role of collaboration among researchers, industries, and students for advancing the fisheries sector’s research and development. He applauded ICAR-CIFE, Mumbai, for making vital bridge connecting industries and students.

Dr. Sahu, emphasized the importance of industry-driven research and expressed his gratitude to both the students and industry representatives for their enthusiastic participation in this landmark event, organized on short notice.

During the technical session ‘Challenges & Opportunities in Aquafeed Industry’ students exhibited their idea in the form of poster / model and power point presentations.

National Workshop on ‘Empowering Student Entrepreneurship and Innovations in Aquafeed Industry’ Organised

This workshop has set a new benchmark in fostering academia-industry linkages in the fisheries sector and underscores the commitment of ICAR-CIFE to advancing the career prospects of fisheries graduates while supporting the growth of the aquaculture industry.

The workshop saw the participation from 22 industries and 165 postgraduate and Ph.D. students specializing in various fisheries science disciplines from across the country.
