Integrated Nutrient Management for Sustainable Soil Health and Crop Productivity at ICAR-CCARI, Goa

ICAR–Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Goa, in collaboration with ATMA North Goa, organized a Training-cum-Awareness Programme on “Khet Bachao Abhiyan: Integrated Nutrient Management for Sustainable Soil Health and Crop Productivity” at Shikeri Village, North Goa, today.

The programme focused on promoting Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) through the balanced use of chemical fertilizers, organic manures, crop residues, green manures, and biofertilizers to improve soil fertility, nutrient-use efficiency, and crop productivity.

A live demonstration of the Fertilizer Calculator Goa mobile application developed by ICAR-CCARI was conducted to showcase site-specific fertilizer recommendations based on soil test results.

A total of 16 women farmers participated in the programme and actively engaged in the discussions. The programme enhanced awareness on balanced nutrient management, soil health conservation, and environmentally sustainable farming practices for long-term agricultural productivity.
