ICAR-National Research Centre on Mithun, Medziphema, successfully concluded a 7-day internship program for veterinary students from the College of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry (CVSc & AH), Central Agricultural University, Jalukie from 25th to 31st July 2025. The program provided hands-on training in scientific Mithun husbandry and veterinary practices.
Designed to enhance practical knowledge and skills, the internship covered key aspects of Mithun management, including animal rearing, health monitoring, disease prevention, and veterinary care. Daily assessments and reporting mechanisms ensured structured learning and effective skill development throughout the program.

The initiative marks a significant step toward strengthening the capabilities of emerging veterinary professionals, while also promoting the scientific and sustainable management of Mithun an important livestock species in the region’s tribal economy.
Additionally, ICAR-NRC on Mithun collaborated with St. Joseph University, Chümoukedima, and the Department of Biotechnology to organize a workshop on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). The workshop aimed to raise awareness among students and researchers about the significance of IPR in scientific innovation and research.
