ICAR-NIVEDI Celebrates 25 Years of Excellence in Veterinary Epidemiology and One Health

ICAR-National Institute of Veterinary Epidemiology and Disease Informatics, Bengaluru, marked its 25th Foundation Day, celebrating a quarter-century of pioneering contributions to veterinary epidemiology, disease informatics, and One Health.

Dr. Artabandhu Sahoo, Director, ICAR-National Institute of Animal Nutrition and Physiology, graced the occasion as Chief Guest and lauded ICAR-NIVEDI’s contributions. He emphasized the importance of collaborative research in livestock health and nutrition for sustainable growth in the sector.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Baldev R. Gulati, Director, ICAR-NIVEDI, lauded the institute’s scientific community for securing national and international research grants and driving impactful work in livestock health and disease surveillance. He acknowledged the visionary leadership of former directors, including Drs. Rajasekhar, Prabhudas, Rahman, Roy, and Shome, and emphasized that the 25th anniversary is both a celebration of past achievements and a springboard for future growth.

About 10 progressive livestock farmers from Karnataka were felicitated for adopting innovative livestock management practices. Several ICAR-NIVEDI scientists and staff were recognized for their outstanding achievements in 2024–25.
