Under the nationwide Khet Bachao Abhiyan 2026, ICAR–National Bureau of Agriculturally Important Microorganisms, Mau, Uttar Pradesh organised a farmer awareness and extension programme at Niyamatpur village of Pardaha Block, Mau district, Uttar Pradesh, today. The programme focused on promoting sustainable agricultural practices and creating awareness among farmers about the role of beneficial microorganisms in enhancing soil fertility, crop productivity, and environmental sustainability.
A total of 33 farmers, including 23 men and 10 women, participated in the programme. During the technical sessions, scientists emphasized the importance of integrated nutrient management, soil health monitoring through soil testing, and the application of beneficial microbial technologies for improving nutrient availability and crop performance.

Interactive discussions provided farmers with an opportunity to directly interact with scientists and gain practical knowledge on environmentally sustainable farming practices aimed at improving resilience against various agricultural stresses.
As part of the technology dissemination initiative, ICAR-NBAIM distributed its microbial bioformulation, Bio-Phos, to participating farmers. Scientists explained the benefits of the product, including phosphorus solubilization, enhanced nutrient uptake, and accelerated decomposition of crop residues for compost production.
The programme effectively promoted the adoption of eco-friendly agricultural technologies and reinforced the importance of beneficial microorganisms in sustainable farming and long-term agricultural productivity.
