ICAR-IIRMR signs MoA with Narottam Seeds LLP for Licensing of Mustard Variety DRMRIJ-31 (GIRIRAJ)

11 October 2025, Rajasthan

ICAR–Indian Institute of Rapeseed-Mustard Research, Bharatpur, Rajasthan, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with M/s Narottam Seeds LLP, Mohakampur, Phase 1, Meerut City, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, today for the non-exclusive licensing of the Indian mustard variety DRMRIJ-31 (GIRIRAJ).

DRMRIJ-31 (GIRIRAJ) is a high-yielding and high oil content mustard variety, recommended for timely sown conditions in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and has also shown excellent performance in other mustard-growing regions.

The MoA was formally signed by Dr. V. V. Singh, Director, ICAR-IIRMR, Bharatpur, and Shri Atulya Bandhu Gupta, Managing Director, M/s narottam seeds LLP, on behalf of their respective organizations.

In his address, Dr. V. V. Singh emphasized that the commercialization of high-yielding varieties will facilitate the expansion of improved varieties in farmers’ fields, ultimately contributing towards India’s goal of achieving self-sufficiency in edible oilseed production.

Shri Bandhu Gupta expressed his commitment to collaborative efforts, assuring active participation in scaling up quality seed production and distribution to support the national mission of achieving edible oil self-reliance
Officials from ICAR-IIRMR and M/s narottam seeds LLP were also present during the signing ceremony.
