ICAR-DFR, Pune Empowers Farmers through Balanced Fertilizer Use in Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Konaseema District, Andhra Pradesh

An awareness programme on balanced fertilizer use was successfully conducted at Velicheru Village in Dr B. R. Ambedkar Konaseema District, Andhra Pradesh, by the ICAR–Directorate of Floricultural Research, Regional Station, Vemagiri.

The programme focused on promoting sustainable nutrient management practices to improve soil fertility and enhance crop productivity. Key topics included the importance of balanced fertilizer application, along with eco-friendly approaches such as the use of biofertilizers, green manuring, and waste decomposers for maintaining long-term soil health.

A total of 35 farmers, comprising 31 men and 4 women, actively participated in the programme. The participants engaged enthusiastically, expressing interest in adopting the recommended practices and interacting with experts to address their queries.

The programme was organized by the ICAR–DFR Regional Station, Vemagiri, in collaboration with the Department of Horticulture, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Konaseema District.
