ICAR Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Conclave–2026 was successfully organized at ICAR–National Institute of Natural Fibre Engineering and Technology, Kolkata, in collaboration with Agrinnovate India Limited (AgIn), New Delhi, with the objective of fostering strategic partnerships for sustainable agricultural development in the eastern region of the country. The conclave brought together representatives from ICAR institutes, corporate organizations, industry leaders, startups, entrepreneurs, NGOs, and media to promote technology commercialization and strengthen CSR-driven collaborations.
A Technology Exhibition-cum-Poster Pavilion showcasing innovative technologies developed by ICAR institutes attracted wide attention from stakeholders. The exhibition highlighted scalable solutions in climate-resilient agriculture, sustainable agri-food systems, women and youth empowerment, digital agriculture, value addition, farm mechanization, nutrition-sensitive agriculture, livelihood enhancement, and the One Health approach.

In his presidential address, Shri Gyanendra D. Tripathi, Additional Secretary, DARE & Secretary, ICAR, encouraged corporate organizations to partner with ICAR for promoting innovation, transparency, and sustainable agricultural growth.
Welcoming the participants, Dr D. B. Shakyawar, Director, ICAR-NINFET, emphasized the importance of building sustainable partnerships with corporate organizations for scaling agricultural innovations through CSR initiatives.
Dr Praveen Malik, CEO, Agrinnovate India Limited, elaborated on technology commercialization strategies and CSR funding mechanisms. Technical presentations by Directors of ICAR-CRIJAF, ICAR-ATARI, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, and ICAR-NISA highlighted opportunities in climate-resilient agriculture, natural resource conservation, One Health, aquaculture, value addition, enterprise development, and gender-responsive agricultural interventions.
The conclave was graced by Shri Sandeep Sarkar, Additional Secretary (DARE) & Financial Advisor, ICAR, who emphasized the critical role of CSR in scaling agricultural technologies to address climate change and national development priorities.
An interactive brainstorming session facilitated meaningful dialogue among ICAR scientists, startups, entrepreneurs, and corporate representatives on technology commercialization, startup support, market linkages, and institutional collaboration.

Two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed with M/s Chlorohemp Agro-Tech Private Limited and M/s Tamna Crafts for developing diversified value-added natural fibre products. The dignitaries also visited various research laboratories and pilot facilities of ICAR-NINFET.
The conclave concluded with a strong commitment to strengthening public-private partnerships for sustainable agriculture. UCO Bank, Jute Corporation of India, Gloster Ltd., Jayashree Textiles, and Agrestal Organic Living Pvt. Ltd. emerged as prospective CSR partners for future collaborative initiatives with ICAR.
Around 150 participants representing ICAR institutes, corporate organizations, startups, entrepreneurs, and media attended the programme, making it a significant milestone in advancing innovation-led agricultural development.
