ICAR-Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture, Chennai and M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation, Tamil Nadu, signed a Memorandum of Understanding for collaborative technology validation and extension today.
The MoU was signed marking the 14th Anniversary of MSSRF’s Fish for All Centre in the presence of Dr. Sowmiya Swaminathan, Chairperson (MSSRF).
Dr. Kuldeep K. Lal, Director, CIBA, said that ICAR-CIBA and Fish for all Research and Training Centre are jointly validating location specific and client’s need-based brackishwater aquaculture based livelihood development models in the coastal districts of Tamil Nadu.
The MoU aims to undertake collaborative research-cum-technology application programmes for research uptake on brackishwater fish farming technology to enhance the livelihoods of resource-dependent communities including Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes of the coastal districts.
