ICAR-CCARI, Goa Organises Balanced Use of Fertilizers and Sustainable Soil Health Practices

ICAR–Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Goa organized a Training-cum-Awareness Programme on “Khet Bachao Abhiyan: Balanced Use of Fertilizers and Sustainable Soil Health Practices” at the Village Panchayat Hall, Neura, North Goa today.

During the programme, the experts explained the objectives of Khet Bachao Abhiyan and emphasized the importance of soil test-based fertilizer application, balanced nutrient management, organic manures, and natural farming practices for maintaining soil health, ecological balance, and environmental sustainability. They also informed farmers about the Fertilizer Calculator Goa mobile application developed by ICAR-CCARI, Goa, and explained how it can be used for scientific fertilizer recommendation and nutrient management.

The programme was chaired and graced by the Secretary of Neura Village Panchayat, and the Talathi of Neura Village of Tiswadi taluka of North Goa district. The participants actively interacted during the programme and expressed their interest in adopting soil test-based fertilizer recommendations, organic manures, and natural farming practices for sustainable crop production and environmental conservation.

A total of 32 farmers participated in the programme.
