The event was uniquely conducted through a farmers’ participatory approach, which turned the occasion into a symbol of unity and shared responsibility. Farmers from nearby villages joined hands with ICAR-IARI Assam staff, forming a long human chain across the campus to demonstrate their commitment to cleanliness and sustainable living.

The chain of farmers and scientists together sent out a powerful reminder that agriculture is not only about producing food but also about nurturing healthy communities and a healthy planet. By linking hands, participants symbolized the connection between science, society, and sustainability, echoing the true spirit of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

Nearly 100 farmers actively participated, carrying forward the message that a cleaner environment begins with collective effort.
