The programme was led by the Dr Girish Patil, S, Director, ICAR–NRC on Mithun, along with a team of scientists, District Veterinary Officers (DVOs), and progressive Mithun farmers. The team visited all three locations and engaged in interactive discussions with local Mithun farmers on key aspects such as health management, breeding, conservation, and scientific rearing practices.

During the interactions, Dr Patil emphasised the importance of strengthening farmer–scientist linkages to enhance productivity, sustainability, and conservation of Mithun farming systems. Farmers actively shared their field-level experiences, challenges, and valuable indigenous knowledge, making the programme highly participatory and informative.
