ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Goa organized an exposure visit and input distribution programme today under the Scheduled Caste Sub Plan of the Government of India. The initiative aimed to promote inclusive agricultural development by providing technological exposure and input support to Scheduled Caste (SC) farmers. A total of 12 farmers from Bicholim, Goa participated.

Dr. Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI, inaugurated the programme and highlighted the institute’s research focus and its commitment to empowering marginalized communities through targeted interventions under SCSP.

As part of the visit, farmers were taken to the Fisheries Farm, where they learned about seabass polyculture, pangasius farming, species selection, stocking density, and feeding strategies. A live demonstration of cast netting was conducted, along with an introduction to floating duck-cum-fish cage culture and traditional fish trapping techniques.
