Distribution of Kadaknath Chicks and Farmer–Scientist Interaction on Poultry Rearing Organised under Farmer FIRST Programme

4 February 2026, Jabalpur

Under the Farmers’ FIRST Programme (FFP), Kadaknath chicks were distributed to 31 adopted farmers (including 10 women farmers) at tribal dominated Khukkham village of Kundam block of Jabalpur District of Madhya Pradesh today. The programme was conducted with the objective to promote backyard poultry as a supplementary livelihood.

The officials outlined the objectives and income potential of Kadaknath rearing, and guided the farmers on scientific poultry management and the breed’s GI-tagged value and market demand.
