Front Line Demonstration on new innovative jute retting technology ‘NINFET JAIVIK’ was organised at Natagarh, Hooghly today.
Dr. Avijit Das, Head, Quality Evaluation and Improvement Division and inventor of this technology emphasised the merits of this new technology. He said that the technology is a boon for jute growers considering the changing climatic conditions & water scarcity.
Dr. Laxmikanta Nayak, Head, Transfer of Technology Division, highlighted the importance of quality jute fibre for diversified value-added products. He stated that NINFET JAIVIK will play a pivotal role in getting quality jute fibre.
Mr. Subrata Karmakar, Director, Hooghly FPC, spoke about the role of FPC in enhancing income for jute growers thus increasing the livelihood and social status.
Fifty jute farmers participated in this SCSP sponsored demonstration programme.
