DAESI Participants Explore Agricultural Technologies at ICAR-NDRI-KVK, Nadia

An exposure visit was organized at ICAR-NDRI-KVK, Nadia for 41 participants of the DAESI (Diploma in Agricultural Extension Services for Input Dealers) programme, accompanied by two officials from ATC, Kalyani.

The participants visited various demonstration and production units of the KVK, including the Integrated Duck-cum-Fish Farming Unit, seed production blocks, free-grazing goat unit, ongoing NRRI rice variety trials, and fruit blocks comprising dragon fruit, guava, litchi, sweet lime, Jamun and ber.

They also observed tissue-culture Kathali banana, natural farming blocks, fodder cafeteria, Azolla production and planting material production units. KVK scientists explained the practical aspects of integrated farming, crop diversification, quality seed and planting material production, natural farming, livestock management and resource-efficient technologies.

The programme concluded with an interactive session with the participants, with special emphasis on soil health management and plant protection issues, enabling them to clarify field-level problems and strengthen their technical knowledge for better advisory services to farmers.
