Brainstorming Session on “Achieving Self-Sufficiency in Cashew in India: Way forward” organizedThe ICAR-Directorate of Cashew Research, Puttur, Karnataka virtually organized the Brainstorming Session on “Achieving Self-Sufficiency in Cashew in India: Way forward” today.

Dr. Venkatesh N. Hubballi, Director, Directorate of Cashewnut and Cocoa Development, Kochi, Kerala highlighted the cost incurred for importing the raw Cashew Nuts by the country at ₹ 9,000 Crores which is more than the revenue generated from export.

Earlier, delivering the welcome address, Dr. T.N. Raviprasad, Director, ICAR-DCR, Puttur accentuated on the various ways to bridge the source-sink gap that exists in the sector.

The Session registered participation by around 100 participants.
