ICAR–Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Assam organized a one-day awareness and training programme on ‘Scientific Management of Livestock and Poultry’ and “Climate-Resilient Technologies for Livelihood Enhancement” today at the adopted village of B.Sc. (Agri.) students under the RAWE programme, under the visionary leadership of Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR–IARI.
The programme aimed to sensitize farmers to scientific livestock and poultry management and promote climate-resilient practices for sustainable livelihoods.
Discussions covered livestock’s role in income enhancement, balanced feeding, animal nutrition, value addition, poultry management, and ICAR-IARI-Assam’s integrated farming initiatives. Interactive sessions provided practical insights into adaptive livestock and poultry practices suited for small and marginal farmers.
Over 60 farmers, including farm women, Krishi Sakhis, and rural youth, participated along with students.
