26 January 2026, Nimpith
Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Nimpith (Ramkrishna Mission Ashram), Nimpith, South 24 Parganas, in collaboration with ICAR-Indian Institute of Agricultural Biotechnology, Ranchi, ICAR–Indian Institute of Oilseeds Research, Hyderabad and ICAR–Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Kolkata, organised an Awareness-cum-Input Distribution Programme today to promote scientific cultivation and distribute agricultural inputs among farmers. The programme aimed at strengthening sustainable rural livelihoods and ensuring food security through the adoption of improved agricultural practices.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Pradip Dey, Director, ICAR–ATARI, Kolkata, underscored that the true spirit of the Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan (SCSP) lies in reaching the unreached and empowering the unserved. He emphasized that sustainable impact can be achieved only by building strong, end-to-end value chains that seamlessly link SC communities with Cooperatives, Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) and market networks, thereby ensuring lasting socio-economic advancement and fostering inclusive rural growth in West Bengal.

Dr. C.K. Mondal, Head, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Nimpith, efficiently coordinated the programme, ensuring its smooth conduct and active participation of farmers. Battery-operated sprayers, seeds of sunflower and biofertilisers were distributed during the programme, empowering farmers with essential resources for scientific cultivation.
The programme successfully reinforced the significance of science-based agriculture and encouraged farmers to adopt resilient and sustainable farming practices.
A total of 250 farmers participated in the programme.
