A major highlight of the event was fish ranching in the Dumboor reservoir, along with an extensive input distribution drive under the Scheduled Tribes Component (STC) and North Eastern Hill (NEH) schemes. Beneficiary farmers received fish seeds, feed, fishing nets, and essential fishing gear. Additionally, the distribution of fishing boats marked a significant step in enhancing local fishing infrastructure and livelihoods.

Interactive technical sessions were conducted on scientific aquaculture practices, reservoir fisheries management, and market linkages. These aimed to build the capacity of fishers to adopt sustainable and income-generating practices.

The programme saw active participation from over 300 fishers and fish farmers. Their engagement reflected a growing interest in adopting improved aquaculture techniques, paving the way for socio-economic development in the region’s tribal fishing communities.
