Agri-Startup Awareness Bootcamp Paves Way for Innovation in Rural Bengal

In a strategic initiative to strengthen the agri-startup ecosystem in West Bengal, the Agri-Food Business Incubation Centre, IIT Kharagpur, in collaboration with the ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Kolkata, organized a virtual Awareness Bootcamp on Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana- Remunerative Approaches for Agriculture and Allied Sector Rejuvenation. The event was designed for agri-entrepreneurs, startups, Farmer Producer Organisations, and Farmer Producer Companies associated with Krishi Vigyan Kendras across the state.

Dr. Pradip Dey, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Kolkata, underscored the importance of creating an enabling environment for agri-entrepreneurship through institutional partnerships, innovation, and youth engagement. He emphasized that such initiatives are key to unlocking rural potential and contributing to the national goal of a Viksit Bharat.

The event witnessed active participation from 25 agri-startups and grassroots entrepreneurs across the state. A dynamic Q&A session enabled direct engagement with subject-matter experts, fostering idea exchange and providing clarity on scheme-related queries.
