Shri Gyanendra D. Tripathi, IAS, Additional Secretary, DARE and Secretary, ICAR, Government of India, visited the ICAR-Central Potato Research Institute, Regional Station, Modipuram, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, today.
During his visit, Shri Tripathi laid the foundation stone for the New Main Entrance Gate and the Approach Road leading to the Office premises of the station. He also planted a sapling in the station campus, symbolizing ICAR's commitment towards environmental sustainability and green initiatives.

Shri Tripathi visited the Potato Technology Exhibition organized by the station, where he was apprised of the improved potato varieties, production technologies, seed production activities and major achievements of the institute in support of potato growers and the potato industry.

He also visited the Tissue Culture Laboratory, research laboratories and post-harvest facilities of the station and interacted informally with scientists and staff members regarding ongoing research activities, technological advancements and future priorities in potato research and development.
The Secretary appreciated the efforts of the scientists and staff of ICAR-CPRI Regional Station, Modipuram, in the areas of quality seed production, technology dissemination and location-specific research for the benefit of farming communities.
