The ICAR-Research Complex for Eastern Region, Patna, Bihar organized a Webinar on “Nutritional and Reproductive Interventions in Livestock Production for the Stakeholders and Scientists involved in Agricultural / Livestock Research and Development” today.
In his inaugural address, Dr. Ujjwal Kumar, Director, ICAR-RCER, Patna briefed about the importance of nutrition and reproductive management as the primary determinants for a profitable livestock production system. The need of Artificial Insemination in the Goat farming sector for genetic upgradation of local non-descript Goat population to fulfill the hunger and health needs of day-by-day increasing human population was stressed in Dr. Kumar’s address.

The two Lectures - “Recent Advances in Goat Semen Cryopreservation and Artificial Insemination” by Dr. Ravi Ranjan, Senior Scientist, ICAR-Central Institute for Research on Goats, Makhdoom, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh and “Feeding Management of Livestock during Scarcity Period” by Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Assistant Professor, Animal Nutrition, Bihar Veterinary College, Patna, Bihar were delivered during the occasion.
About 180 Stakeholders from pan India participated in the Webinar.
The Webinar was organized as a part of the “Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav” to commemorate 75 Years of India’s Independence.
