The two-day Virtual 52nd Annual Group Meeting of AICRP on Sorghum and 33rd Annual Group Meeting of Small Millets organized by the ICAR-Indian Institute Millets Research, Hyderabad from 28th to 29th April, 2022 concluded today.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE) & DG (ICAR) urged the Millets Fraternity to prepare well for the forthcoming International Year of Millets - 2023 (IYoM - 2023).
Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Vice-Chancellor, University of Agriculture Sciences, Bengaluru, Karnataka marked his presence as the Guest of Honor during the occasion.
Dr. Tilak Raj Sharma, Deputy Director General (Crop Science), ICAR along with Dr. R.K. Singh, ADG (FFC); Dr. D.K. Yadav, ADG (Seeds), ICAR and other Invited Members from the University, Seed Sectors by the Council also participated in the Meeting.
Dr. P.V. Vara Prasad, Professor & Director, Department of Agronomy, Kansas State University, U.S.A. delivered his Special Lecture on “Improve Sorghum and Millet Productivity in the Semi-Arid Regions - Way Forward” for the benefit of the Millets researchers in the country during the occasion.
The Senior Officials of ICAR Institutes and State Agricultural Universities also attended the Meeting.
