21st – 30th July 2022, Hyderabad
ICAR-National Research Centre on Meat, Hyderabad organized DST-SERB sponsored High-end workshop (Karyashala) on “Targeted and High Throughput Sequence Data Analysis Approaches for Candidate Gene Mining” during July 21-30, 2022.

The program was inaugurated by Dr. S.B. Barbuddhe, Director, NRC on Meat. In his valedictory address, he highlighted the futuristic applications of various molecular tools learned during the workshop and encouraged the participants to use them innovatively to address research problems in their respective field of study.
The workshop provided both theoretical and hands-on experience on various basic and advanced tools such as RT-PCR, RACE-PCR, ddPCR, real time PCR including advanced bioinformatics tools for high throughput sequence data analysis like transcriptome data quality control, assembly, annotation, differential gene expression analysis, gene ontology and pathway analysis.
This program was attended by 10 students (8 M.V.Sc. & 2 PhD) from 5 Veterinary colleges. Exposure visits to National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB) and Directorate of Poultry Research (DPR) were also organized. A training manual was prepared and distributed among the participants.
