ICAR-National Institute for Plant Biotechnology, New Delhi organized a two-day workshop for school students (IX-XII) on “Plant Biotechnology: Science, Applications, and Opportunities” during November 10-11, 2022. The workshop was sponsored by the Society for Plant Biochemistry & Biotechnology, New Delhi.
The Chief guest of the valedictory function was Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, former Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR), while interacting with students sensitized about agricultural research and the scope of plant biotechnology in crop improvement.
Dr. S. L. Mehta, President, SPBB and former Vice-Chancellor, MPUA&T, Udaipur inaugurated the workshop and briefed on various aspects of the fundamentals of plant biotechnology.
Dr. A. K. Shasany, Director, ICAR - NIPB spoke about multiple avenues of entrepreneurship in plant biotechnology.
More than seventy students and their biology teachers from eight schools located in Delhi participated in the workshop.
