Workshop on “Fodder Resources Development Plan for Chhattisgarh”

The ICAR-Indian Grassland and Fodder Research Institute, Jhansi in association with the Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur organized virtual workshop on “Fodder Resources Development Plan for Chhattisgarh” as a part of “National Initiative on Accelerating Fodder Technology Adoption NIAFTA” of the Institute today.

The objective is to disseminate the ongoing research related to the fodder technologies and to develop fodder resource development plan for Chhattisgarh.

Dr. Girish Chandel, Vice-Chancellor, Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur, chaired the session.  He emphasized on the development and promotion of biofortified fodder crops along with convention fodder technologies.

Mrs. Chandan Sanjay Tripathi, IAS, Director, Veterinary Services, Government of Chhattisgarh, highlighted the feed and fodder situation the State. He also briefed about various Government Schemes being implemented to meet the demand.

Dr. Amaresh Chandra, Director, ICAR-IGFRI, Jhansi highlighted the significant research activities of the Institute with reference to the agro-climate of Chhattisgarh.

Dr. Dakshinkar N. Purshottam, Vice-Chancellor, Dau Shri Vasudev Chandrakar Kamdhenu Vishwavidyalaya, Anjora , Durg,  briefed about various technologies developed by the University.
Earlier, Dr. Purushottam Sharma, Nodal Officer, NIAFTA, in his welcome address briefed about the initiative of the Institute

The participants interacted and provided valuable suggestions which will be incorporated in fodder plan.

About 140 participants from Directorate of Veterinary Services, KVKs, IGKV, Dau Shri Vasudev Chandrakar Kamdhenu Vishwavidyalaya and IGFRI participated in the workshop.
