Vice-Chancellors from Maharashtra, Prof. Karbhari Vishwanath Kale, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technology University, and Prof. Prashant Kumar Patil, Vice Chancellor, Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Ahmednagar, visited ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Dehradun today for a consultation and establish collaboration.
Dr. Vishwanath Kale and Dr. Patil spoke about the facilities and potentials available with the respective universities and called for collaboration in emerging areas of research and education.
Dr. Rajiv Singh, Former Head, IISWC RC, Kota, Rajasthan was the special invitee. He spoke on the importance and potential of the collaboration between the Institutions. Dr. Singh highlighted the ongoing research under 6 themes of research areas at the Institute.
Dr. Charan Singh, Director in-charge, briefed about the Institute engagements, and achievements.
Dr. M Muruganandam, Head, PME & KM unit and Head of Divisions, explained the specific areas of research focus and spoke on the possible areas of collaboration with the Maharashtra Universities to promote research and development in the region, especially in resource assessment, development of situation-specific technologies, application of modern tools and technologies in agriculture and resource aggradation, and human resource development.
