Training programme on “Oyster Mushroom Cultivation”

ICAR-Vivekananda Parvatiya Krishi Anusandhan Sansthan, Almora organized two days training programme on “Oyster Mushroom Cultivation” during August 23-24, 2022 for the farmers of institute adopted village Lakhani, district Bageshwar under Scheduled Caste Sub Plan programme.

Dr. S.C. Panday, Director (In-Charge) said in present scenario mushroom cultivation might be good source of income generation for the small holding farmers or landless farmers and mushrooms are rich source of nutrition and enhances the immunity.

Dr. B.M. Pandey, Nodal Officer, Training Cell said oyster mushroom cultivation can be learnt easily. Farmers can sale their produce fresh or in form of value added products.

The Plenary Session was chaired by Dr. J.K. Bisht, Director (In-Charge), ICAR-VPKAS, Almora. He urged the farmers to develop expertise in mushroom production so that they can earn more profit from this enterprise in future also.
