ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Guwahati, Zone VI organized “3-day training programme on Natural farming” from 7-9th September, 2022 at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kamrup, Assam for the officials Krishi Vigyan Kendras under Zone VI.

Dr. R. S. Chandel, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Y. S. Parmar University of Horticulture & Forsestry, Solan Himachal Pradesh in his inaugural address, stated that Natural Farming is the future of agriculture in India. He emphasized that chemical agriculture is now hampering the soil, animal and human health so need of hour is Natural Farming which balances the agro-ecological system.
Hands-on-training on Natural Farming was given to the KVK officials. The training included the theory on all the dimensions of natural farming and practical on the preparation of various inputs of natural farming.
Dr. Bidyut C. Deka, Vice-Chancellor, Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat, graced the valedictory session as the Chief Guest. He stressed on the importance of Natural Farming and its inclusion in the agriculture courses.
Earlier Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Zone VI, Guwahati elucidated the benefits of the adoption of Natural Farming in the North East India due to its agro-ecological advantages.
