The Division of Agronomy, under ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, ATMA Chardapur, Maharashtra and Rural Access (NGO), in collaboration with 6 Mahila Farmer Producer organizations from Chanderpur district of Maharashtra, organised training on organic farming for women farmers, from 6th–7th February 2025, at ICAR-IARI, New Delhi.
Dr S.S. Rathore, HoD Agronomy, ICAR-IARI, emphasized the critical role of organic farming in fostering climate resilience.
The event aimed to empower 45 female farmers from Chandrapur district, Maharashtra, with sustainable agricultural practices that would enhance productivity while conserving natural resources.
The technical sessions covered the fundamentals of organic farming, focusing on key components such as biofertilizers, integrated nutrient management, crop diversification, and strategies to increase income through the localized utilization of resources, etc.
