To promote banana cultivation in Jhola land and raise awareness about the necessary skills for improved banana cultivation, ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Research Centre, Koraput, in collaboration with ICAR-National Research Centre for Banana, Tiruchirapalli, organized a training-cum-field demonstration on "Improved Cultivation, Integrated Pest and Disease Management in Banana" at the ICAR-IISWC, RC, Koraput research farm today.
While imparting training the experts briefed the technical aspects including integrated nutrition, irrigation, diseases and pest management in banana cultivation. They also briefed the quality production of banana seedlings.
A total of 112 farmers/trainees comprising of farmers, women SHG members from 10 villages, 4 blocks, Dist- Koraput ,Odisha participated in this training programme.
Dr J.Lenka, Sci (Fruit. Sci) and Shri G. B. Naik, ACTO, coordinated the training programme.
