ICAR-Indian Grassland and Fodder Research Institute, Jhansi; Uttar Pradesh FPO Association, Lucknow and Amroukh Artha Jev Urja, FPO, Jhansi organized one-day training programme for Directors of various FPOs of Jhansi, Lalitpur and Jalaun districts of Uttar Pradesh today. Seventy-eight FPOs are working in these three districts.
Dr. Amaresh Chandra, Director, ICAR-IGFRI and Shri Dayashankar Singh, President, Uttar Pradesh FPO Association inaugurated the programme.
Dr. Chandra briefed the participants about improved fodder production technologies and urged them to become ambassador of IGFRI in transferring fodder technologies.
Shri Singh, explained various aspects of FPO function and to improve their profitability.
Shri Shyam Bihari Gupta, Member, Kisan Samrudhi Ayog, Uttar Pradesh, explained the steps of Natural Farming using products from Cows.
The focus of training was on Cow Based Natural Agriculture. The important topics covered were round the year fodder production, biogas energy, natural farming, value addition of agricultural products and improving the FPO performance.
All the participants visited the Technology Park of IGFRI and witnessed improved fodder technologies.
More than 50 participants from various FPOs participated in the training.
