Dr Subrata Gupta, Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Govt of India, and Shri S. Dave, Former Chairman, Codex Alimentarius Commission visited ICAR-National Research Centre for Grapes, Pune today.
Dr Gupta lauded the efforts in maintaining a well-equipped National Referral Laboratory and urged collaboration of ICAR-NRCG and MoFPI institutes, such as the National Institute of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship, and Management, in the area of grape processing.
Shri Dave recalled the memories of 2003 and expressed pride in the institute’s achievements so far.
Dr Kaushik Banerjee, Director, ICAR-NRCG briefed about the institute’s ongoing research activities, expansion of area under grape in non-traditional areas, introduction of institute’s varieties in NEH region, implementation of Clean Plant Programme, etc.
The dignitaries also visited the National Referral Laboratory and experimental vineyards.
