The Centre for Agricultural Technology Assessment and Transfer, ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, organized an orientation programme for 98 Assistant Directors from Bihar, representing Agronomy, Plant Protection, and Agricultural Engineering. The programme aimed to enhance their exposure to advanced agricultural research, integrated farming systems, and technology dissemination.
At the formal session, Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-IARI emphasized the importance of research and innovation in addressing challenges like climate change and food security. He urged officers to adopt science-led technologies for sustainable agriculture.

A technical session featured expert presentations on agronomy, nematology, entomology, and plant pathology, highlighting recent advancements and their field-level applications.
Participants visited Integrated Farming System models, mushroom production units, and protected cultivation facilities at the Centre for Protected Cultivation Technology (CPCT). Experts demonstrated sustainable and diversified farming practices.
The officers also explored mechanization technologies at the Division of Agricultural Engineering and learned about seed production and agri-business innovations at the Seed Production Unit and Pusa Krishi Haat.
The programme effectively bridged scientific knowledge with field-level practices, promoting capacity building among state agricultural officers.
