A four-day (19-22 October 2016) refresher training programme on recent technological options for Subject Matter Specialist and Programme Assistants in Home Science of various KVKs of Northeast India was organised by ICAR- Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute , Zone III, Umiam at Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat in collaboration with College of Home Science, Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat.
Dr. G.N. Hazarika, Director of Research (Agri), AAU, Jorhat while inaugurating the programme emphasized for need based training of the stakeholders and refining the technologies as per the requirement of the farmers.
Dr. Bidyut C. Deka, Director, ICAR-ATARI in his address urged upon the participants to update their knowledge in light of the changing requirement of client groups. He further emphasised about the need of a technology basket for choosing and picking of the latest technology for conducting OFTs/ FLDs in the field of agricultural science.
Twenty-nine participants from eight North East states participated in the training.
