Training Programmes on “Quality Planting Material Production in Walnut” organized

The ICAR-Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture, Srinagar and its Regional Station, Mukteshwar organized 5 Training Programmes for “The Promotion of Walnut in Uttarakhand”. The Programmes were organized in association with the Uttarakhand Forest Resource Management Project - Japan International Cooperation Agency, Dehradun, Uttarakhand.

The Training Programmes organized at Maldevta on 17th February, 2022 and Magra in Garhwal Region on 18th February, 2022, respectively registered participation by Dr. Om Chand Sharma, Director, ICAR-CITH, Srinagar; Dr. N.C. Nainwal, UFRMP-JICA; Shri S.K. Singh, UFRMP-JICA, Range Officer, Forest Staff Members and farmers.

The Programmes were organized at the various Nurseries of the Department of Forest, Government of Uttarakhand.

The Programme organized at Sony (Ranikhet Division) on 20th February, 2022 and at Ladiyakata (Nainital Division) in Kumaon Region on 21st February, 2022, respectively registered participation by Dr. Om Chand Sharma, Director, ICAR-CITH, Srinagar; Dr. Arun Kishore; DFO’s; Range Officers; Dr. N.C. Nainwal, UFRMP-JICA; Forest Staff Members and Farmers participated in the programmes.

The Programme organized on 22nd February, 2022 at Silalekh registered participation by Dr. N.C. Nainwal, UFRMP-JICA; DFO; Range Officer; Forest Staff Members and Farmers.

The participants were apprised about the various grafting techniques for the propagation of Walnut so that the quality planting material can be produced in the State.
