Dr. S. Ayyappan, Secretary, DARE and DG, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) visited Pesticide Residue Laboratories of Project Coordinating Cell, All India Network Project on Pesticide Residues, Indian Agricultural Research Instituteon January 14, 2013. Dr. Ayyappan was accompanied with Dr. H.S.Gupta, Director, IARI; Dr. T.P.Rajendran, Assistant Director General (Plant Protection), ICAR and Dr. Malavika Dadlani, Joint Director (Research), IARI.
During his visit Dr. Ayyappan appreciated the development of state of art facilities, maintenance and round the clock functioning of sophisticated equipment, implementation of quality management system as per IS/ISO/IEC: 17025:2005 and the technical competency of the laboratory. Dr. Ayyappan appreciated the utilization of multi-location supervised field trials data generated under AINP on Pesticide Residues forfixation of Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) of pesticides on crops by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).

Sharma, Network Coordinator AINP on Pesticide Residues explained about the achievements and output of thetwo national level projects namelyDepartment of Agriculture and Cooperation sponsored central sector scheme, “Monitoring of Pesticide Residues at National Level” andAll India Network Project on Pesticide Residues, ICAR.
