Shri Radha Mohan Singh, Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare inaugurated an additional Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Durg here today.
Shri Singh, in his address explained about benefits of different initiatives of Union government like doubling of farmers income, availability of market facilities through National Agriculture Market, neem coated urea for regular availability of fertilisers, soil testing and distribution of Soil Health Cards to farmers etc. He also emphasised the role of KVK in overall development of farmers and agriculture.
Dr. Raman Singh, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, highlighted regular availability of fertiliser, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Beema Yojana for covering risk in farming, introduction of solar pups for farmers, availability of market for farm produce etc in Chhattisgarh. He urged the farmers to use water judiciously to achieve more yield by principle of per drop more crop.
Sh. Brij Mohan Agarwal, Minister of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Fishery and Water Resources, Govt of Chhattisgarh urged the farmers to adopt scientific and modern techniques of farming for doubling their income.
Ministers of State Governments, Member of Parliaments, Vice-Chancellors of Agricultural Universities and Directors of ICAR Institutes also graced the occasion.
A National Agricultural Fair is being organised at Raipur from 27-31 January 2017 showcasing technologies by KVKs, IGKV, Raipurpur and ICAR institutes.
