The Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ajmer, Rajasthan and ATMA, Ajmer District, Rajasthan jointly organized the Farmers’ Fair today.
Delivering his address, the Chief Guest, Padam Bhushan, Dr. R.S. Paroda, Former Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR) briefed about the scenario of Agriculture including the livestock of whole Rajasthan and, especially, the Semi-Arid Region of Rajasthan. Dr. Paroda urged the participants for making agriculture a profitable venture.
Dr. Ashok Kumar Singh, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Extension), ICAR & Agriculture Commissioner, Government of India marked his presence as the Guest of Honor during the occasion. Dr. Singh appreciated the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ajmer’s, especially, the establishment of the various Crop, Horticulture and Livestock-based profitable demonstration units at its premises.
Dr. J.S. Sandhu, Vice-Chancellor, Sri Karan Narendra Agriculture University, Jobner, Rajasthan briefed about the various technological developments and different usable innovations evolved by SKNAU, Jobner for the farming community. Dr. Sandhu urged for conserving the soil and water in a sustainable manner.
Earlier, welcoming the dignitaries, Dr. S.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Jodhpur, Rajasthan underlined the suitable Integrated Farming Systems and the various Skill Development Programmes to empower the Rural Youths for the Sustainable Income Generation and Gainful Employment.
Around 1,200 Farmers, Farm Women and Rural Youths participated in the Fair.
