The 21-days Training Programme for Graduating Students of Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU) on Entrepreneurial Skill Development conducted by the ICAR-NAARM concluded today.
The programme was conducted under NAHEP- Institutional Development Plan (IDP) scheme was organized from 14th February to 6th March - 2019.
In his valedictory address, Dr.Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM urged the trainees to keep their aims high in life and explore the possibilities to become successful entrepreneurs. The Director also assured the trainees of every possible hand-holding support from a-IDEA of the Academy in the future.
Dr. S.K. Soam, Joint Director, ICAR-NAARM stressed on the growing importance of Artificial Intelligence and the latest ICT tools for its potential applications in the agribusiness in future.
The programme was specifically designed for the agri-graduates for orienting them about the variety of skills related to entrepreneurship and innovation in the field of agribusiness.
The young minds were provided with the opportunities to brainstorm for identifying the problems with the opportunities for entrepreneurial innovations, working with their team for validating their hypothesis, got feedback from start-up experts, refining the business plan and finally making pitch presentation.
The students were also provided with an opportunity for to interacting with more than 10 founders and CEOs of new and established enterprises.
The participants also visited 4 villages and collected the information from about 100 farmers for understanding the crop cultivation and marketing patterns.
The first batch of 45 students of final year of B.Sc. in Agriculture/Agricultural Engineering from five different campuses under ANGRAU attended the programme.
