The ICAR-Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture, Chennai and its Research Centres at Kakdwip, West Bengal and Navsari, Gujarat organized the National Campaign on “Ecosystem Management for Sustainable Fisheries” today.
In his address, Dr. K.P. Jithendran, Director, ICAR-CIBA, emphasized on the active participation of aquaculture farmers and other stakeholders in the year-long programmes planned for the celebrations of 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence.
The farmers also urged for the continued technical and field advisory support from the Institute and sought assistance to link them with the input sources and markets.
Around 100 Aqua Farmers, Fishers and Self-Help Group Women participated in the programme.
The programme was organized as a part of the “Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav” to commemorate 75 Years of India’s Independence.
