9th – 12th January 2024, Almora
ICAR- Vivekananda Parvatiya Krishi Anusandhan Sansthan, Almora, organised a four-day training programme for women farmers on “Income augmentation through agri-enterprises” from 9th – 12th January 2024, under Schedule Caste Sub Plan.
Dr. K.K. Mishra, Director-in-Charge, ICAR-VPKAS, inaugurated the training programme. He stated that as agriculture in the hills is predominantly done by women farmers, organising training programmes for women farmers will have a far-reaching effect on agricultural development.
Lectures on mushroom, vegetable, apiculture, government schemes for women entrepreneurs, and horticultural product value addition were held, with a visit to Yashoda Nursey in Lohali providing practical experience.
The programme was attended by 33 women farmers from Almora and Pauri Garhwal districts The participants were given onion seedlings and Bacillus strain WGPSB for the management of white grubs.
