The ICAR-Central Institute of Post-Harvest Engineering & Technology, Ludhiana, Punjab organized a Campaign on “On-farm Boundary Plantation in Punjab” to mark the celebrations of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research’s 93rd Foundation Day today.
In his inaugural address, Dr. R.K. Singh, Former Director, ICAR-CIPHET, Ludhiana briefed about the Council’s Mission and the importance of the Plantation Drive.

The Plantation Drive was initiated under the guidance of Dr. Nachiket Kotwaliwale, Director, ICAR-CIPHET, Ludhiana, Punjab.
About 500 Saplings of Neem, Phycus, Ponocarpus, Ashoka, Sheesam, Mango, Amaltas, Gulmohar Gulmohar and Bel were planted in the Institute Campus, Villages, Health Centres and Schools.
With the Theme of “Har Med Par Ped”, the country farm dykes were utilized to increase the green canopy of landscape without affecting the farmland production.
About 200 to 300 farmers were sensitized during the programme.
Around 50 Staff Members participated in the programme.
