ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Kausalyaganga, Bhubaneswar, Odisha organised a capacity-building programme for farmers of Nagaland on scientific aquaculture as a part of celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahostav under NEH programme. The event was organised to improve the aquaculture productivity in the state of Nagaland by enriching the farmers with knowhow on recent developments in freshwater aquaculture technologies. The event was attended by more than seventy participants including Scientists, extension officials, and farmers of different districts of Nagaland.
Dr Pramoda Kumar Sahoo, Director of ICAR-CIFA suggested adopting the recent technologies in freshwater aquaculture so as to improve the present aquaculture productivity of Nagaland. He emphasized upon advances in Scientific Aquaculture technologies with special references to Fish health management.
Shri Rongsennungba, Director of Fisheries, Nagaland highlighted the need for interventions of the technologies developed by research institutes such as ICAR-CIFA for maximising the aquaculture production and income of the people of Nagaland.
